Kalanirvana Artists Residency provides STUDIO space for artists from various fields, especially to painters, photographers, performing artists, researchers, writers, film makers etc who would like to stay for a longer period for exploring the various aspect of Indian art,culture,traditions, festival, food etc for a better understanding and get inspiration for her/his creativity. We provide two Types of Services in Our Studio Facility and they are :
A. Studio with ROOM to stay with kitchen and toilet
B. Studio with ROOM and Food and City Tour
What comes in FOOD ?
Ans.We provide breakfast + lunch + dinner and open kitchen, where one can make n number of coffee and tea.
What is covered in City Tour ?
1.Temple architectures of Bhubaneswar which are dates back to 6th century BC onwards.
2. The caves of UDAYAGIRI and Khandagiri dates back to 2500 years old
3.The Buddhist pagoda of Dhauligiri which is very important center for all Buddhist because of KALINGA WAR which was fought some 2260 years before.
4. The Tribal Museum
5. The Ekamra Haat CRAFT Village
6.The market Building ( for local shopping )
7. Bollywood film in Indian Theater
8. Interaction with Indian Family may be a Dinner or Lunch
9. Participation in Indian festival if there is any during the stay ( optional)
10.Attending in festival or cultural activity if there is any during the period of your stay ( optional )
What is the Environment and work Culture ?
Kalanirvana is a very vibrant and energetic Residency, where a lot of importance is given to new ideas and approaches. There is a participation fee to be paid by each artist . We also ask the artists to donate 1 – 2 small works (drawings, prints, photographs…) for our Collection . The Residency offers its walls, and doors to be painted by artists as a part of living gallery. You can do contribute your art if you want.
You can expect an intensive time of work and exchange in our cozy creative work space . The work culture is very vibrant and interactive. You can explore your idea and concepts and discuss with fellow artists or curators and you can also interact with local people and know more about Indian culture and people.You can learn cooking from Indian host or may be by fellow artists.
You will become part of the KALANIRVANA network including the possibility to participate in future exhibitions organized by KALANIRVANA and an eventual appearance in a future catalog.

Places to explore :
The Resident can also explore for various different tourist sites 100-250 kilometers of the Bhubaneswar city where the KIAR residency is situated. Based on the places and number of days we can arrange very affordable packages if you want. The packages starting from 150$ to 500$ per person and from 1 day to maximum 5 days Tour .
