About Bubaneswar : Known as the “Temple City”, Bhubaneswar has a unique position by virtue of the ability to seamlessly integrate its rich cultural heritage with a strong regional economic base. Founded during the Kalinga empire over 3,000 years ago, Bhubaneswar today boasts of a cluster of magnificent temples, constituting a complete record of Odisha temple architecture from its early beginnings to its culmination.

Post-Independence, the modern city of Bhubaneswar, designed by German architect Otto Konigsberger in 1946, was established to shape the city in serving as an administrative centre for the state. Today, the city is an emerging hub for education, health and information technology. The city is very much important sites for three different religions and their evolutions, Hinduism,Jainism and Budhism.

30 days Residency Schedule:

Day 1 : Arrival at the International airport of Bhubaneswar and we will receive from the airport, and Having lunch or dinner according to Arrival time at Residency . Introduction to KIAR and distribution of KIAR kit and important information about India.

Day2 : Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am :

Visit to Khandagiri  at 9am to 1pm : One of the earliest groups of Jain rock-cut shelters, the caves of Udayagiri (Hill of Sunrise) and Khandagiri (Broken Hills) command a unique position in the field of history, rock-cut architecture, art and religion. The two hills rise abruptly from the coastal plain, about six km west of Bhubaneswar, separated by a highway.  Udayagiri is the hill on the right and access to its 18 caves is provided by a flight of steps. The largest and the most beautiful, Cave 1, Rani Gumpha or Queen’s Cave, off the pain path to the right is double storeyed. Excavated on three sides of a quadrangle with fine wall friezes and some recently restored pillars, not exactly architectural marvel, but has some beautiful sculptures.

There are a lot of monkeys in the site and they are friendly and you can take pictures with them and you can feed them peanuts or banana and they will pose for you.

After the caves we will go to the nearby supermarket to buy necessary things. Example: to buy some juice, yogurt , cheese, shoap, oil, toothpaste or eatery items. Return to Residency By  2pm for Lunch. Rest.

Day3 :  Morning Walk around the place near residency at 6.30am- 7.30 am . Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am : Start for State Tribal Museum  from 10.30 am – 1.30pm. The Museum has collection of tribal dresses, weapons and jewellery representing more than 60 different tribal groups mostly concentrated in southern parts of Odisha (Orissa). Prototypes of the traditional style huts with authentic murals decorating their walls attract a large number of visitors.

Lunch at the Tribal Museum Restaurant : at 1.30 pm – 2.30 pm

You can look at the tribal museum souvenir stall.

Day4 :  Morning Walk around the place near residency at 6.30am- 7.30 am . Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am : FREE DAY and doing your own things.

Lunch at 2pm and Dinner at 9pm.

Day5:  Morning Walk around the place near residency at 6.30am- 7.30 am . Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am :

Starting for Temple visit at 9am – 1pm. ( Mukteswar, Megheswar, Lingaraj )

We will visit the famous temple architecture of  Bhuabneswar, which  was the workshop for temple architecture in ancient India dates back from 5th century . There are evolutions of temple architecture during these periods and one can get glimpse of the different types of experiments done in the temple architecture and its size and form.

Lunch at 1 pm to 1.30 pm

Proceed to State museum at 1.45pm-5pm

In The State museum (Orissa)’s finer archaeological remains and treasures displayed in various galleries. It has a magnificent collection of various archaeological finds including some Buddhist and Jain sculptures, copper plates, coins and donatives inscriptions from ancient and medieval Kalinga. It boasts traditional and folk musical instruments, heavy jewellery, ancient weapons, tools and some photographs. The highlight of the museum is the rare palm leaf manuscripts and a collection of antique paintings. The well equipped library of the museum has some valuable publications on archaeology, architecture, history, anthropology, philosophy etc.

Return to Residency by 6.30 pm. And dinner at 9pm

Day6 :  Morning Walk around the place near residency at 6.30am- 7.30 am .  Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am : FREE DAY Launch at 2pm and dinner at 9pm

Day7 :  Morning Walk around the place near residency at 6.30am- 7.30 am . Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am : FREE DAY Launch at 2pm and dinner at 9pm

Day8 :  Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am : Start for NANADANAKANA Zoological park at 9am.

Nandankanan Zoo, located in Chandaka Forest along the Kanjia Lake is the habitat of the world’s biggest White Tiger population, 67 other animals, 18 reptiles, and 81 species of birds. The Zoo has successfully bred black panthers, white tigers and the gharial crocodiles in captivity.

Day9 :  Morning Walk around the place near residency at 6.30am- 7.30 am .  Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am : FREE DAY Launch at 2pm and dinner at 9pm

Day10 :  Morning Walk around the place near residency at 6.30am- 7.30 am . Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am : FREE DAY Launch at 2pm and dinner at 9pm

Day11 :  Breakfast Between 7 am-8 am : Starting for Puri at 8 am. On the way we will go to the Dhauli giri Buddhist pagoda on the bank of River Daya, which is famous of the KALINGA WAR which is a historical incident for Buddhist across globe as because of this war Buddhism spread all over world. Dhauli giri from 9am -10.30am

After Dhauli we will proceed to Pipilli craft village on the way to Puri. Pipili is famous for handicraft appliqué works .

We will spend 1 hour in Pipili and then will directly proceed to Our Hotel in Puri before 2 pm. After get fresh we will have Lunch at 2.30pm. Rest at Hotel. We will enjoy the Puri Beach from 5pm-9pm following dinner at 9pm.

 

Day12 :  Morning Walk at Puri Beach at 6.30am- 7.30 am .  Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am :

After breakfast we will not come back hotel but proceed for Konark the world heritage site.

Konark : From 10am-1.30pm. One of the most stunning monuments of religious significance, a true masterpiece of architecture proudly stands in the form of Sun Temple at Konark. A culmination of Oriya architecture, the temple is a wonderful place as the language of stone defeats the human language here. Built in 13th century by King Narasimhadeva, the temple is designed in the shape of a colossal chariot with seven horses and twelve wheels, carrying the sun god, Surya, across heavens. The temple is one of India’s important world heritage sites. It’s a must watch for every tourists who visit India.

After the Konark, we will proceed for Lunch : at 2pm-3pm. Return to Puri hotel at 4.30 pm. And we will take rest and FREE time. At 9 pm dinner.

Day13 :  Walk at Puri Beach at 6.30am- 7.30 am .  Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am :  FREE TIME. At 5pm  we will proceed to visit Jagannath Temple. Temple do not allow non –Hindu . But we can visit from outside and can feel the place and spiritual vibes of it. It is the most famous and most gathered pilgrim centre in the whole world. ( during Rath Yatra or the car festival there comes more than 30,00,000 people )

Day14 :  Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am : Check out from Hotel in Puri. We will proceed back to Bhubaneswar . On our way back we will visit Raghurajpur Craft Village.

Launch at 2.30 pm and heading towards Hirapur  Chaushathi Yogini. The place is famous for ancient tantric center . One of its kind temple in Eastern India.

After Hirapur we will proceed to Residency in Bhubaneswar around 6 pm followed by dinner at 9pm.

Day15 : Morning Walk around the place near residency at 6.30am- 7.30 am .  Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am : FREE DAY Launch at 2pm and dinner at 9pm

Day16 :  Morning Walk around the place near residency at 6.30am- 7.30 am .  Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am : FREE DAY Launch at 2pm and dinner at 9pm

Day17 :  Breakfast Between 7 am-8 am : Starting for Gopalpur at 8am and Enjoying the beautiful beach  and its nearby places. Lunch at 2pm and dinner at 8.30pm.

Day18 :  Morning Walk around  beach at 6.30am- 7.30 am .  Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am : FREE TIME Launch at 2pm . Going to local fisherman village and local market at 4pm and  dinner at 8.30pm. Back to Hotel

Day19 :  Morning Walk around  beach at 6.30am- 7.30 am .  Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am : chek out from hotel and heading to Bhubaneswar to Residency at 9am and reaching Bhubaneswar at 2pm.  Launch at 2.30pm and  dinner at 9.00pm.

Day20 :  Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am : Starting at 9am for Ratnagiri, Lalitgiri and Udayagiri the Budhhist triangle : from 11 am to 2pm.

Lalitgiri, is the 1st century Buddhist complex in Orissa, which together with Ratnagiri and Udayagiri creates Puspagiri University which has a number of best sculptures of that age – like significant stupas and monasteries (viharas). As a renowned Buddhist pilgrimage, this ancient lush village Lalitgiri is a holy destination for a large number of Buddhism devotees.
Numerous excavations done by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) have related this region with the origin point of Buddhism. ASI has been conducting such excavations since 1985 to today.

Lunch at 2.30 pm and start to Residency at 4pm. On our way we will stop over Cuttack and have dinner at 8.30pm  and back to residency  at 9.30pm.

Day21 :  Morning Walk around the place near residency at 6.30am- 7.30 am .  Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am : FREE DAY Launch at 2pm  and  dinner at 9pm.

Day22 :  Morning Walk around the place near residency at 6.30am- 7.30 am .  Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am : FREE TIMELaunch at 2pm . Going for handicraft shopping  at Ekamra Haat 5pm and  dinner at 9pm. Back to ResidencyDay23 :  Morning Walk around the place near residency at 6.30am- 7.30 am .  Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am : FREE TIME Launch at 2pm . Going for handicraft shopping  at 5pm and  dinner at 9pm. Back to Residency

Day24 :  Morning Walk around the place near residency at 6.30am- 7.30 am .  Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am : FREE DAY Launch at 2pm and  dinner at 9pm.

Day25 :  Morning Walk around the place near residency at 6.30am- 7.30 am .  Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am : Starting for visiting Indian Village  AT 9AM . Interacting with villagers and lunch at 2pm. BACK TO Residency at 4pm. Dinner at 9 pm.

Day26 :  Morning Walk around the place near residency at 6.30am- 7.30 am .  Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am : Lunch at 2pm. Going to watch Bollywood film at 5pm BACK TO Residency at 10pm will have Dinner at 9 pm on our way.

Day27 :  Morning Walk around the place near residency at 6.30am- 7.30 am .  Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am : Starting for visiting School Kids  AT 10AM . Lunch at 2pm. Bhubaneswar City tour at 4pm BACK TO Residency at 10pm. Dinner at 9 pm.

Day28 :  Morning Walk around the place near residency at 6.30am- 7.30 am .  Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am : Learning Indian cooking .lunch at 2pm. BACK TO Residency at 4pm. Dinner at 9 pm.

Day29 :  Morning Walk around the place near residency at 6.30am- 7.30 am . Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am FREE DAY : lunch at 2pm and Dinner at 9 pm.

Day30 :  Breakfast Between 8 am-9 am : PLANNING FOR going back to airport according to schedule .
